You're planning an organic herb garden: perhaps it has an historical theme for a country estate, or a culinary theme for your restaurant, or kitchen garden. Maybe your interest lies in medicinal herbs, or you simply require a beautiful, sustainable herb garden with an array of stimulating scent, taste, texture and colour, to provide a constant supply of fresh organic herbs.
Award winning herbs, Hampton Court Palace 2008
Jekka McVicar's award-winning herb displays incorporate many different aspects of herb garden design and demand a high level of natural flair, herb knowledge and experience, imagination and attention to detail.
Drawing on over 20 years experience of growing, designing and working with organic herbs, we provide a bespoke herb garden design consultancy. As well as the initial design and planting, gardens are regularly revisited to provide ongoing advice on maintenance, continuous development and special projects.
One example of our design consultancy is the Physic Garden (pictured above) at the award winning Sheepdrove Organic Farm in Berkshire. This features an impressive range of culinary, medicinal and health-giving herbs for both humans and animals.
Previous clients include private gardens and estates, hotels and restaurants, castles and monasteries, celebrity chefs, and specialist retailers.
Former designs include Roman herb gardens, Physic gardens, kitchen gardens, display gardens and medicinal gardens. We are currently involved in the design of a show garden for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2009.
