August Open Days
Our Herb Farm Open days at the end of August were great fun, and we would like to thank those of you that came along and made the most of our end of season herb sale. We hope you enjoyed meeting Jekka and the team, and that you had a lovely day out amongst the herbs!

Art in Action
Unusually for herbs, we were in the sculpture garden at Art in Action in July, at the Waterperry Gardens, Oxfordshire. Our organic herb exhibit, featured once again the beautiful sculpted Sundial Hare, that was the focal point for our winning Chelsea Flower Show exhibit .
Our floral herb garden illustrated the artistic side of using herbs to create a garden which is not only functional but strikingly beautiful as well. Perhaps you are inspired to create your own floral herb garden at home. |

Jekka supporting organic potatoes at the Glastonbury Festival
It's a little known fact but well known rumour that Jekka was once in a rock band before herbs took over her life . Jekka paid a brief visit to her native Pilton to assist ex-fellow band member and good friend, Laurence Hasson, of 'Leary's Organic Seed Potatoes' in June with his organic potatoes stand at the Glastonbury Festival.

BBC Gardeners' World Live
June saw Jekka and accompanying herbs travelling all over the place! She was at BBC Gardeners' World Live at the NEC, Birmingham on 14th June adding the herbs element to the 'Grow Your Own' stage and answering questions about herbs to BBC Gardeners' World subscribers. |
Herb talks for Marie Curie Cancer Care
Jekka was in Sudborough, Northamptonshire on Friday 13th June lecturing on 'Herbs for Scents and Senses' at Ann Huntingdon's potager garden at 'The Old Rectory', to help raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Ann described the evening as "a triumph" with a turnout of about 100 people!

Herbs in containers can be stunningly beautiful, as well as functional. What better home for herbs than a Whichford Pot? Our favourite terracotta pot makers were the venue for "Jekka & Jekyll", a 2-day event in early June with talks by Jekka and accomplished plantsman,Paul Williams.
We were also selling our organic herbs at the event and it was so successful that our production team were literally run off their feet restocking our herbs!

Medicinal herbs at Chelsea win 13th Chelsea Gold!
'The Medicinal, Mythical and Magical World of Herbs' was the winning theme for Jekka's floral exhibit at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. This year's show saw the launch of Jekka's brand new seed mix, Jekka's Red Salad Mix a new 'cut & come again' which is not only delicious to eat but also adds a striking splash of colour to the garden!

Jekka also met up with old friend, celebrity chef, Jamie Oliver at Chelsea - you can watch Jekka on Jamie's podcast, by clicking here. They were chatting about Sea Kale and Chives, and how you can use the flower petals themselves in a salad.
