New for 2014 - Jekka has created an oval herb garden, very similar to her 2009 RHS Chelsea flower show exhibit which was awarded the RHS Lawrence Medal for the best floral display that year. This garden illustrates how easy it is to incorporate herbs into a formal or informal garden, where they not only add scent, flavour and texture but also create a haven for bees and butterflies.
Our Open days provide a wonderful opportunity for visitors to observe our Herbetum and to buy herbs direct from the farm. The herbs in the Herbetum are all propagated and trialled at Jekka’s Herb Farm, and grown for the British Garden. Visitors are able to purchase from the traditional to the rarer variety of herbs that they have just discovered. Easily accessible from the M4/M5 interchange and the first Severn Bridge, the Herbetum and Jekka’s Herb Farm are located in the beautiful South Gloucestershire countryside. This makes a great day out for plant lovers looking for something new and will give inspiration to garden designers and to budding cooks. Entry to the Herbetum at our Open days is free, for more information on our Open days please click here
Jekka's Herbetum also forms the backbone of a new school at the farm, providing Jekka with an opportunity to share her extensive knowledge and passion for herbs. Jekka's Master classes, are aimed to suit everyone, whether you are just starting out with a herb garden or you are already a confident gardener looking to broaden your skills in propagation and plant maintenance. They are very hands on and you will leave with a new understanding of herbs and horticulture.
Here are some photos of our Herbetum.
