Herbs in the Herboretum

The following pages lists the herbs that will be featured in our herboretum. We will be opening to the public on a selection of Fridays throughout the year, starting in the spring of 2013, when many of the herbs will be available for purchase. Please note that we no longer supply plants by mail order.

PA06 Acinos alpinus Alpine Basil, Basil Thyme

Fully hardy perennial, Ht. 20 cm. Small white lipped pink/mauve flowers all summer. Highly aromatic small grey green leaves. Good in meat or vegetable stews. Also medicinal.

PP51 Plectranthus amboinicus Cuban Oregano, Jamaican Broad leaf Thyme, Indian Borage

Frost tender, evergreen perennial. Ht. 30cm-1m. Pale lilac flowers in summer. Large succulent pale green leaves. Culinary, good with chicken, fish and risotto.
