Soil Association Organic Standard

Specialist Nursery Supervisor wanted (last updated July 2010)

About Us:

An award winning, specialist, organic nursery growing an extensive range of herbs, including rare and exotic plants. We supply via mail order, contract grow for a high profile clientele, hold regular Open Days, and attend major flower shows and plant fairs.

About the role:

We require an experienced, full-time horticulturist, with the knowledge and confidence to lead and motivate a small team of dedicated horticulturists. Key duties include plant management, stock control, and ongoing liaison with the management team. It’s a hands-on role within a flourishing business, presenting an excellent opportunity to an experienced plants person, who’s keen to progress.

About you:

You have an innate love of plants, practical experience within a plant nursery, and a good working knowledge of pest and disease. Ideally, you have some background in organic and/or herb growing. You’re a self starter and a natural leader, with a ‘can do’ approach to tasks and a willingness both to share your knowledge with, and learn from, our existing team. You currently hold a supervisory role, or are looking to progress your career in this area.
