The following pages lists all of the herbs featured in our Herbetum. Our herb plants are available for purchase direct from the farm at our Open days or by Collection, by prior arrangment. All of our herbs are propagated and trialled at the herb farm and grown for the British garden. Available in 1lt and 2lt pots.

PI01 Inula helenium Elecampane

Fully hardy perennial, Ht. up to 2.4m. Large bright yellow ragged daisy like flowers in summer. Large green oval leaves. Culinary, the roots can be used to flavour puddings. Ancient medicinal herb.

PI02 Iris pseudacorus AGM Yellow Iris, Yellow Flag Iris

Fully hardy perennial, Ht. up to 1.5m. Large bright yellow flowers in spring. Sword shaped bright grey green leaves form narrow fans. Dye plant - yellow from the flowers and black dye from the roots. Plant in wet soil near water.

PI03 Isatis tinctoria Woad

Fully hardy biennial, Ht. up to 1.3m in second year. Clusters of sweet scented yellow flowers in second early summer, followed by black pendant seeds. Lance shaped leaves. Traditional dye plant (blue). Medicinal.
